Laura Fernandez

Laura was born in Lachen, Switzerland and studied at the Dance Academy Zurich before joining the Vaganova Ballet Academy in St Petersburg. Laura graduated from the class of Irina Sitnikova in 2016 and immediately joined the corps de ballet of the Mariinsky Theatre.

Laura gained great experience working with the Mariinsky Ballet and her soloist repertoire grew rapidly to include roles such as Nancy in “La Sylphide”, Peasant pas de deux in “Giselle”, Breadcrumbs Fairy and Princess Florine in “The Sleeping Beauty”, and the Pas de Trois in “Emeralds”.

In 2019, Laura moved to Moscow to join the Stanislavsky Ballet under the direction of Laurent Hilaire where she became a First Soloist. In 2022, being half Ukrainian, Laura left Russia after the invasion of Ukraine and moved to Tbilisi where she is now a Principal ballerina with the State Ballet of Georgia under the direction of Nina Ananiashvili. Laura made her debut with the company as Juliet in Lavrosky’s Romeo & Juliet.
