Boris Zhurilov

Boris was born in St Petersburg and trained at the Academy of Russian Ballet also known as the Vaganova Ballet Academy from 1998-2006. Upon graduation, Boris joined the corps de ballet of the Mariinsky Theatre where he spent the next 12 years performing with the Mariinsky Ballet in all of the company's repertoire and touring extensively around the world.

For the 2018-2019 season, Boris took a leave of absence from the Mariinsky Ballet to take the opportunity to work with the State Ballet of Georgia in Tbilisi as a Principal Dancer under the direction of Nina Ananiashvili. Here Boris extended his repertoire and gained valuable experience.

In 2019 after his year of absence, rather than returning to the Mariinsky Theatre, Boris accepted a contract as a First Soloist with the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Musical Theatre in Moscow where he remained for the following three years.

In 2022, Boris moved to the Hungarian National Opera in Budapest where he is now a Soloist dancing the majority of the company's leading repertoire in ballets from Etudes to Spartacus. Boris also runs his own production company named Zhurilov Art Production which produces ballet concerts including a recent three week tour around Japan in collaboration with Koransha
